Terms of Service: AI Teacher Assistant
Last Updated: May 31, 2026
By installing, authenticating, and utilizing the AI Teacher Assistant ("the Application", "we", "us"), you agree to follow the rules and guidelines explicitly laid out below.
1. Description of the Service
The Application is a Chrome Extension designed specifically for educators to customize and transform classroom handouts. It securely parses your master document templates and class rosters (including target Flesch-Kincaid grade levels and custom transformation directives) from Google Workspace to automatically synthesize and format individualized variations directly back into your Google Drive, leveraging third-party Large Language Models (LLMs).
2. Artificial Intelligence Output Disclaimer
The Application orchestrates natural language processing models (such as Google’s Gemini API). Because Large Language Models can produce "hallucinations" or factually inconsistent text:
- You agree that the Application acts strictly as a rough-drafting assistant.
- You retain full, ultimate editorial responsibility to review any synthesized Google Document for pedagogical efficacy, readability, factual accuracy, and appropriateness before deploying the content in a live classroom environment.
- We cannot and do not guarantee the explicit factual safety of any unverified AI output.
3. Acceptable Use & Safety Filters
You must use the Application strictly in the capacity of educational enhancement and classroom material customization.
To ensure system integrity and student safety:
- Real-time Safety Scanning: We employ real-time safety auditing (Shield Service) and secondary generative safety checks to scan final drafts and roster parameters for prompt injections, system intent violations, or policy bypass attempts.
- Injection Prohibitions: You agree NOT to intentionally attempt to exploit or inject system prompt bypass instructions, persona-adoption commands, or system reconnaissance queries into roster parameter columns (e.g., Student Name, Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level, or Transformation Directives).
- Harmful Content: You agree NOT to use the Application to synthesize illicit, harassing, or illegal content.
- Rate Limits: You agree NOT to intentionally circumvent the Application's API rate limits.
4. Platform Dependencies & "As-Is" Service
Because the Application is inextricably linked to the stability of the Google Workspace Ecosystem (Google Drive API, Google Docs API, Google Sheets API):
- The software is provided "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE".
- We offer no Service Level Agreements (SLAs) regarding uptime. If Google Workspace experiences an outage, the Application will consequently fail to route your documents, and you agree we hold no liability for lost instructional preparation time resulting from third-party downtime.
5. Account Termination & Stateless Privacy
Because the Application operates on a "Zero-Trust" OAuth model, your account natively resides within Google.
- Stateless Privacy Advantage: Our Cloud gateway is built on a fully stateless architecture. We do not save, store, or persist your student parameters, class rosters, or synthesized document bodies on our databases.
- Instant Removal: You may terminate your access to the Application instantaneously by deleting the extension or revoking your OAuth permissions in your Google Security Dashboard. Because the system is stateless, revoking access instantly isolates your environment with zero residual data left on our servers.
- Revocation Rights: We explicitly reserve the right to throttle, block, or permanently ban specific API credentials interacting maliciously with the Application's Cloud Run gateway endpoints.
6. Intellectual Property & Document Ownership
The Application lays no copyright claims to the final Google Docs populated within your Google Drive.
- The lesson plans, master templates, and roster schemas you create belong fundamentally to you (or to your School District, pursuant to your local employment contracts).
7. Changes to the Terms
Because the software is currently undergoing rapid architectural scaling (Beta), we reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Significant changes that impact fundamental permissions will result in Google automatically pausing the extension locally until you explicitly re-authenticate and review the updated consent screens.
